It all Began With Family…& Food

Our Owner & Head Chef, Rachel, only knows how to cook & bake because of her mom.  She grew up in the country, in a very idyllic midwestern home. "Mama OBie" was usually cooking or baking something delicious & always had a homemade dessert by the coffee pot, ALWAYS -- To the point where if dessert was missing by said coffee pot, people would immediately grow concerned & ask if mom was okay.

Over the years, Rachel developed the same love for baking & cooking as her mom. After many ruined batches of peanut butter chocolate chip brownies, & TONS of phone calls with Mom telling her to:

“Add more of this (or that) until it looks right"

She figured it out and became quite the Chef & Pastry Chef.

Now if Rachel shows up without something made from scratch, people wonder if she is okay. (The answer is no, she is not; she turned into her mom!)

Full Circle! Here's to another generation of chefs that “add more of this or that until it looks right.”  What are we doing guys?

What does Baybah Mean?!

The owners of Baybah Made, Rachel & Tom, met each other in August 2017. A year later they were on Kauai's South Shore vacationing with family & at one point Rachel called, “BABE” to Tom — but it sounded more like an extremely whiney, drawn-out....“Baaaay-BAH?!” 

Yes, you guessed it; right there on that lanai….. the term “Baybah” was born. It got out of hand rather quickly too, to be honest. If Rachel or Tom call each other by their real names they look at each other like “How Dare! MY NAME BAYBAH!” They are Baybahdawgs for life.

Part II of the Baybah Made story is short & sweet. Rachel is usually cooking or baking something & if someone says it's good, Tom always goes "If my Baybah made it, it’s good." 

And that is how "Baybah Made" came to be.
